A Little Less Conversation A Little More Action Please

We had playgroup yesterday morning like we do every Wednesday at 10:30 am. We played at the twin’s house in their backyard. They have two of every toy, but Caleb’s favorite toy was this lawn mower that blows bubbles when you push it. He played with that the first hour that we were there. He [...]

Who’s life deserves to be protected

A very interesting article in the National Review came out yesterday. I think this boils the Terri Schiavo issue down to its fundamental issue: what makes a human being a person? Given Terri’s inability to do much more than primal brain functions, some do not believe that Terri Schiavo is a real person anymore. The [...]

Easter Weekend

We had such a great Easter weekend! We really enjoyed having Andy around three full days. We went to the Botanical Gardens on Friday for Easter pictures, and Caleb got to feed the fish at the Botanical Gardens. On Saturday we dyed Easter eggs. We played in the snow on Easter morning. Caleb called it [...]

Rolling Back the Prices with a Five Finger Discount

We had this great funny post about Caleb’s first shoplifting incident at Wal Mart. Bummer though! While trying to update the post to announce that we had reimbursed Wal Mart for the amount of the Pledge dusting spray. We inadvertanly deleted it from the database. I’ve gotta fix that so it won’t happen again. Sorry. [...]

The Kitchen is Closed

Caleb woke up this morning at 5:00. I was already awake and in my office reading. Yeah, I know. I’m crazy. What’s crazier is that I still got 8 hours of sleep. So where was I? Oh yeah, at 5 a.m Caleb thought it was time to get up. Since it sounded like he [...]

Faith Community Church, Welcome to the Internet

My latest web design project for Faith Community Church here in Fort Worth, TX is completed. So far it is a fairly basic site…not too many pages and very little hocus pocus backend programming going on here. This is the church’s first website. Welcome to the web! I’ll add this to my portfolio as soon [...]

Sign Language

"I noticed your child does sign language," said a man at the mall play area who had just seen Caleb doing his version of the "all done" sign. "Yeah, we’ve taught him some sign language," I said. "It helps since he tends to be a little-less-conversation-little-more-action-please kinda kid.""We have four kids under four years old, [...]

Google Ads

If you haven’t noticed. There are some little ads at the bottom of the page. This is a little experiment I’m trying to see if I can score a little cash. The ads are generated based on the content of the page. Google’s robots "read" what’s on the page and then place relevant ads. I [...]

God and Chapstick

This morning while reading a Veggie Tales book Caleb said "God" and "Jesus" for the first time. I guess he will take after his dad and be a Bible scholar. Caleb will repeat anything we say now. It is odd to have a child that talks all of a sudden.
The other thing that happened [...]

PhengosGroup.net Launches

The latest project to come out of my workshop is a website for a brand new company called Phengos Group. Phengos is a relativley obscure Greek word that means "light." It is used in Matthew 5:14-16:

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a [...]
