Andy

Today is my birthday, so I thought I would share with you some highlights from the first thirty years of my life.

Jan 26, 1976 – Hello World!

– Hmmm…kind of a blur.

– Disney World but I don’t remember

– Was always willing to flex when someone said, “Show me your muscles”

– ?

– Threw up in Mrs. Crabtree’s class after seeing another girl throw up. I got to go home and she didn’t.

– Won a bicycle in first grade.

– Sat on my dad’s shoulder and watched the Space Shuttle Challenger STS-8 launch from Cape Canaveral. Will never forget that.

– Never missed the Dukes of Hazzard on Friday nights

– One of the many years dad coached my little league team. Started a new school.

– Decided that I needed to be a Christian. I was saved and baptized.

– First girl friend. I’m not sure we ever actually had a conversation though. Learned to slolam water-ski.

– Made all-stars on the little league baseball team.

– Was a Nintendo freak and lived and breathed sports. My sister graduated from high school.

– Played on middle school basketball team. My high-scoring game was once 8 points. Woo hoo. Wendy began dating some guy name Chris. Started Vigor High School.

– Joined the tennis team. First Kiss. Began to really take more of an interest my spiritual life (perhaps as a result of the kiss).

– Honor roll. Played lots of tennis and video games. Worked on a watermelon and sweet potato farm.

– Sister married that Chris guy and moved to Texas.

– Graduated from H.S. Drove a fork lift in the summer. Started University of South Alabama. Felt a call to ministry. Thought I was in love. What did I know about that.

– Played lots of disc golf. Transferred to the University of Mobile. Met Tiffany. Intern at First Baptist North Mobile. Coached a youth basketball team with a friend.

– Fell in love with Tiffany. Counselor at youth and preteen camp. Played lots of NBA Jam on Sega Genesis that summer. “He’s on fire!”

– Went to my first NBA game. Saw Michael Jordan play no less. Youth minister at Dauphin Island Baptist Church.

– Got engaged to Tiffany. Moved to Montgomery. Married Tiffany. Honeymooned in Cancun. Very poor. Very, very, very happy.

– Still poor. Still happy. Worked for a mortgage company. Went to the mountains of north Georgia on our first anniversary.

– Moved to Fort Worth, TX. Began working at Lifetime Guarantee as Electronic Communications Intern. Started Seminary at SWBTS.

– Rough year: Tiffany’s dad died. We went back to Cancun on vacation to get away from it all.

– Began freelance web design, and started this blog.

– Became a dad. Life forever changed in a good way. Started full time at Lifetime Guarantee. Graduated from seminary.

– Bonding with wife and Caleb. Going to lots of parks.

– Caleb is growing up so fast and becoming such a real little person. I love being a dad. I love being married to Tiffany.

– ?

So that’s how my lasty 30 years went.

Andy, Enjoyed your birthday memoirs. It took me back, what great memories we have of your childhood. But know what a joy we get with you and your family now. Talking to Caleb just now was so heartwarming. Wish I could give all of you hugs. Consider yourself well-squeezed. Mom
