A Parenting First: A Nugget in the Nose

With the first child, everything stresses you out. You fear the worst. You worry the most. You relax the least. When numero duo comes along, you let them eat off the floor, play with knives, and ride on the roof of the car. Well not exactly, but you get the idea. You’ve been down this road before, so you think you’ve seen it all. You think you’ve got it all figured out.

Not so fast. You can’t prepare for everything.

nose

No one ever tells you in parenting classes that one day a piece of chicken nugget could get lodged in your child’s nose. But it did. We got our tweezers and dug it out. I’m used to the kids digging in their own noses, but I didn’t expect that we’d have to do it for them.

What’s something your child has done that no book, article, or parenting class every prepared you for?
