A Week at Camp Mimi

Tiffany

Caleb has been having a blast with my mom this week. He left Thursday morning and will return this coming Friday. It doesn’t seem to bother him that he is away from mom and dad.

He likes to start the day with Mimi early! Between 5-6 am he is ready to play. Hopefully his sleep will return to normal when he gets home. They spend their days riding the Mule, 4 Wheelers, Tractors, and lawn mowers. Caleb likes to help Clyde feed the fish, and he helps Wayne with bird calling.

He went to his first parade on Friday. He was thrilled to catch beads, candy, and gum (for when he is older). He also caught his first fish. He was so proud. The first fish he caught was so big that it broke his line. When they finally got one in Caleb, carried the fish around making everyone touch it.

He talks to us briefly on the phone, but he always seems too busy to slow down and talk for long. We miss him so much although we have enjoyed sleeping late the last few mornings. One other thing I’ve appreciated with Caleb gone is the silence. Caleb talks so much and asks so many questions that the break from conversation has been nice!

I can’t wait for that big hug and squeeze when Caleb gets home this weekend. It might be another 3 years before we let him go away this long again.
