Amazing Mothers
Mothers can do amazing things. Mothers GTD (get things done) before dads can get started. Mothers can hold an intelligent phone conversation while cooking dinner, folding clothes, and holding a baby on her hip. I just watch in awe at all Tiffany can do in a day.
Our boys don’t yet understand how blessed they are. I leaned in and whispered to Caleb while we were out at Longhorn’s eating a steak lunch that his mom is brilliant, that she could do any job she wanted, and make lots of money. Then I put my arm around him and continued, “But do you know what she wants to do more than anything else? She wants to stay home and be with you and Andrew.” Tiffany probably thought I was reminding him of his eating manners.
Motherhood: A Tug of War sometimes
Being a mom is a full-time job. It’s a much harder than mine, for sure. Some days are crazy. Some days are even boring. But, I’m thankful that Tiffany doesn’t want our sons to be raised by underpaid day-care workers. I’m proud of her. I know what sacrifices she has made, but I also know that she believes with every cell in her body that she’s doing what she loves most.
Tiffany and I both have amazing moms too. We love you all.
