And the Color is…Pink

If there is one color that’s lacking from my life, I’d have to say it’s pink. That’s all about to change. We’re having a girl!

I’m already preparing my heart for it to be stolen. If all goes as expected, she will be doing her breaking and entering in early March. Wow! I couldn’t be happier.

The big is-it-a-boy-or-girl reveal wasn’t quite as spectacular as we had imagined. The plan was to find out in a few weeks when my parents were visiting. We’d all go the sonogram together, and it would be one of those moments where time stood still and the ultrasound nurse would say in slow motion, “So, there she is” or something like that, and we would all hug each other, and it would be such a special moment.

Not exactly how it happened…

In reality we were in the ER because Tiffany was feeling a lot more terrible than the normal kind of terrible that’s characteristic of pregancy. Though I was at the ER with her, the ultrasound nurse wouldn’t let anybody else in the sonogram room but her and Tiffany because (as we were told) she “didn’t like to talk much and answer anyone’s questions.” Maybe that’s normal, but it definitely came across as a bad attitude. So at the end of the sonogram she asked Tiffany if she’d like to know what the sex of the baby is. Of course, she did. And she came back and told me in an equally undramatic way.

And now I’m telling you.
