Back from Vacation
After being gone a week (and Tiffany and Caleb gone two weeks), it’s nice to be back home. We had a wonderful time with our family back in Alabama and NW Florida. I’ll be adding some pictures soon showing some of our adventures, but I have about 90 pictures to go through first.
The trip started in Tallassee, AL, about 25 miles northeast of Montgomery. There we visited Tiffany’s mom, her step-dad, her grandfather, and her sister (who flew in from Boston). Caleb loved getting to ride the four-wheeler, the Mule (a little all-terrain four wheel drive truck), the tractor, and the boat. He also liked swimming and eating his weight in blueberries that he helped pick.
We then went down to Tallahassee, FL, where we visited with Tiffany’s grandmother, her aunt, her uncle, and her cousin. From there we drove back over to Foley, AL, where we met up with my parents, my sister, my brother-in-law, and their two kids (who drove down from Atlanta). We did some water-skiing, ate good seafood, and rode go-karts and bumper boats at The Track in Gulf Shores.
Then came tropical storm Cindy which put about a foot of water and an inch of mud underneath my parent’s bay house, we decided to leave a day early so that we could beat the evacuation traffic from the impending hurricane Dennis.
So we’re back home, enjoying our bed, sorting through the dirty laundry, thinking about how much we miss our family and wished we lived closer…and praying that hurricane Cindy doesn’t wash away the bay house.
