Blood Bath at the Little People Garage
We decided to get Caleb a new toy to celebrate the fact that he is potty trained. Caleb and I selected the Little People Garage at Target this morning. He could gas up the cars, put them through the car wash, service them at the diagnostic center, and race them down the ramp. I knew this would free up my morning to get all kinds of things done since Caleb would be busy with his new toy.
I couldn’t have been more wrong! I had to assemble to toy before Caleb could play with it. I worked for ten minutes on step one. Then I spent twenty minutes on step two (keep in mind there are 13 steps). Step two is where my first injury occured. The hard plastic pulled off skin on my fingers. The entire time I’m working Caleb is standing over me trying to help. I finally gave up.
After a few minutes I had a pep talk with myself. I knew I was smart enough to figure out the directions, and I was tired of Caleb screaming, "Daddy fix it". Why does Caleb think that daddy is the only one who can fix things?
So I returned to the garage and started working again. I had two more injuries and it took another hour and ten minutes to get it done. After each step was complete Caleb would high five me and scream, "Go mommy". It was a great feeling when it was finally done. It took a few minutes to remove the blood drops off of the garage, but Caleb loves it
