Caleb Does the Wave

People, dogs, the ground, cars, trees, his shadow…these are all things that Caleb waves at now. His technique is a little un-orthodox too. Most babies have a dainty little wave where their fingers are the only thing moving. But oh no, not Caleb. He goes all out. He does it with gusto. He waves his whole arm up and down. For a long time he wouldn’t wave. We were convinced that we had a non-waving baby, that he did not come factory installed with the waving capacity. It’s possible that he was a just conscientious objector, that he knew how to wave but just didn’t believe in it. But then all of a sudden, he thought, “Ok, I think I’ll wave now.” And now he waves at everything and everybody. I guess you could say that he is a believer.
