In early 2006, I said goodbye to Lifetime Guarantee Ministries after six years of managing their web site, lifetime.org. In those years, while attending seminary and studying subjects like Greek, systematic theology, and hermeneutics (aka preaching), I found myself instead devouring every article I could find on designing and coding great web sites.

This weekend, more than a thousand churches in the US and throughout the world will be participating in OnePrayer.

Even if you know that I work for Right From The Heart, you may not know much more than that. We played this five-minute video in all five services (totaling about 5,000 people) at our church, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, a couple weeks ago.

The challenge of having to come up with the big picture and keep the details in mind too.

I just returned from a 5-day mission trip to Mexico with the about 40 men from Johnson Ferry. They go every October. I had not been on a mission trip since my college days, so I was both nervous and excited at the same time.

For the last six weeks, I’ve been working with Terry Storch and the LifeChurch.tv team on a really amazing web site called YouVersion.com. Well, today the “Alpha” version is being released to a limited number of people by invitation only.

In America, there aren’t too many costs associated with being a follower of Jesus Christ. In other countries though, there is often a higher price to be paid.

Last weekend, our Pastor, Bryant Wright, preached an entire 3-sermon series in one morning. It began last week when he asked the congregation to send in any questions they had about God, the Bible, and Christianity. He received nearly 200 questions. He took several of those and answered a different set in each morning service.

There’s a nice article about Fellowship Church (FC) that was published recently in the Miami Herald. You might ask, “Why would a Miami newspaper write a story about a Texas Church?” That’s because FC is no longer just a Texas church.

Over the weekend I wrote a book review for A Whole New Mind by Daniel Pink. The review was posted on Godbit.com. This is a fascinating book that talks about how, according to the author, we’re already moving out of the information age and into to the conceptual age. In this conceptual age, new skills and abilities will need to be focused on if we’re to survive. A highly recommend the book. Read the full review.
