Cameron Moll’s Good Design vs. Great Design
I attended LessConf on Friday. It was a great day of learning and meeting people. My favorite speaker was Cameron Moll. I’ve followed Cameron since about 2004 when he posted some Photoshop tutorials on the Wicked Word style. He gave a great presentation on “Good Design vs. Great Design.” Here are my notes for that presentation:

Rip it Apart
For many years, I worked with small organizations, where I was a one-man web design team. I would whip up a design, present the comp to one or two others on staff, and they’d inevitably tell me…

Interviewed by “Women of Grace & Freedom”
Yesterday I did an interview for an online radio program called “Women of Grace & Freedom.” Yes, I know what you’re thinking, and I thought that at first too. But, although the hosts are women, and I am not, they don’t only talk about issues for just women.

Lifetime Weekly Redesign
I recently redesigned the Lifetime Weekly email newsletter. Each Wednesday, I send out the newsletter on behalf of Lifetime Guarantee ministries. It consists of a main article by one of the Gillhams (and sometimes by me), and I also write the introductory column.

ChurchMetrics.com Launches
I’m excited to announce the launch of a new web site, churchmetrics.com, which I played a small role in designing. Built by the digerati team at LifeChurch.tv, Church Metrics is a free tool for churches big and small to keep track of their weekly numbers such as attendance, offering, and baptisms.

Full Circle
In early 2006, I said goodbye to Lifetime Guarantee Ministries after six years of managing their web site, lifetime.org. In those years, while attending seminary and studying subjects like Greek, systematic theology, and hermeneutics (aka preaching), I found myself instead devouring every article I could find on designing and coding great web sites.
