Christmas Morning

Andy

Christmas morning came early at the Knight household. We worked it out with Santa for him to come this past Friday night instead of Christmas Eve since we will be traveling, and he might have a hard time finding us. It worked out great for Santa since he is so busy on Christmas Eve.

Caleb must have been a really good boy this past year. Santa left him a picnic table, Tonka dump truck, and a basketball goal. His stocking stuffers included a beeper and cell phone toy, Elmo coloring book with crayons, bubbles, and jet. The look on Caleb’s face was priceless as he walked into the living room Saturday morning. He played all day with his new toys, and he didn’t even have time to stop and eat.

It is hard to imagine but Tiffany and I enjoyed the morning even more than Caleb. There was nothing like watching our son as he experienced his first Christmas (last year he just slept through everything). Parenthood is amazing because it just keeps getting better.

Christmas, more than anything else, is a reminder that God is not just the Creator who who kicked this world into gear and then let it run its course. He is involved. He is active. He cares about our life. He cared so much that He invaded our world in the most common of ways: a stable manger. He came not just to teach great sermons, heal our ailments, protect us when we travel, or bless our food. He came to provide us with life, freedom and hope. He came to reconcile the broken relationship between God and mankind. To learn more about how he did this, you may want to read a piece I wrote on Lifetime.org

We will be traveling over the couple of few weeks to spend time with our family. We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. We know for some Christmas will be difficult because you have lost a loved one this year. We hope you will be filled with wonderful memories of past Christmases with your loved one like we are as we remember Tiffany’s dad David, grandmother Dean, and grandfather Jack. We love you all.
