Fear of Falling
My latest article that we send to our Lifetime Guarantee mailing list has been posted on Lifetime.org. It’s entitled “Fear of Falling.”
We’re struggling to teach Caleb that he doesn’t have to be the best at everything. In his mind, if he can’t do something perfectly, he doesn’t want to do it at all. He definitely has perfectionist tendencies. If he thinks he won’t win a race, he won’t even run. If he thinks he can’t write lowercase letters, he won’t even try. He also doesn’t want to take off his training wheels if he things there’s a chance of falling. We want him to know that no one is perfect, and very rarely are you good at something without first being bad at it.
You can read more about this in the article “Fear of Falling” on the Lifetime Guarantee web site. I hope it encourages you to not be afraid of failure.
Also, if you’d like to receive future articles like this at your house each month, you can contact me through this site or through the Lifetime.org site.
