Finally A Good Use for the iPhone
Andy has been the proud owner of an iPhone for about a month. This was a really big deal for him. He has wanted one since they first hit the market.
All along I was secretly happy that he didn’t have one. I see dads at the park surfing the web instead of interacting with their kids. I don’t think it is necessary to check your email at every red light like I see some people doing. I had not been that impressed with the iPhone until the other morning…
Andy was taking Andrew to the pediatrician without me. This was his first trip ever with one of the boys alone at the doctor. We were both a little nervous. I’m a control freak, and Andy has short term memory loss (OK… really just details aren’t his thing). I knew I wouldn’t get much about what had happened at the doctor. He really proved me wrong!
After they returned, I said “Tell me everything”. He pulled out his iPhone, and hit play. He had recorded his entire conservation with the doctor. I’m not ashamed to admit that I listened to all six and a half minutes of it. I felt like I had been there with them.
So now I want to apologize for all of my put downs of the iPhone. However, I still get tired of the glow from the iPhone while I’m trying to sleep. And I don’t understand why he needs it with him in the bathroom.
Andy said that the app he used—whatever that means—is called Recorder. He’s also used it to record a couple of Caleb’s made-up songs.
