Five Minute Miracle

Tiffany

A five minute miracle…or at least that’s what we are hoping for.

Caleb is going for surgery tomorrow to have his adenoids removed. He has been chronically sick since March, and we hope the removal of his adenoids is the answer we have been looking for.

We’ve tried allergy testing and cystic fibrosis screening, but so far we haven’t figured out why a small cold knocks him out for weeks. Any cold triggers awful asthma and life comes to a screeching stop around here. He’ll go over a week without being able to breathe out of his nose. He has had bronchitis a dozen times in the past year with one round of pneumonia and croup. He has had to miss school, and we visited the pediatrician 22 times in 10 months. We’ve spent almost $700 (after insurance) in asthma medicine just this month. Last week he was taking oral medicine 10 times a day with a breathing machine treatment every three hours including during the night.

We’ve been reluctant to blog about it because we know some kids have medical problems much worse. We want him to be normal again. We want him to be able to play outside and run without breathing problems. It is so hard when the doctor says he can’t play outdoors or go to school.

He has been such a trooper through it all. He doesn’t complain about another doctor’s appointment or whine about more medicine. He has even learned all of the medical lingo about sinuses, lymph nodes, and asthma.

Caleb has all of the symptoms of adenoid problems, so we are hoping tomorrow will be a fresh start for him. If you think of him tomorrow, please say a little prayer that this will be the end to his respiratory problems. Thanks!

Andy and Tiffany, I’m sorry to hear about this, but I will certainly keep Caleb in my prayers. God is truly a healer and I know he will heal Caleb.

I’ll be praying that he bounces back quickly!

We will be praying for Caleb and for ya’ll. I had my adenoids/tonsils removed when i was under 3 & all that stuff seemed to get better with time. I now don’t even remember any asthma attackes at all and for awhile my parents say they were constant!

So hopefully this will be the answer to it all!

Tiffany and Andy – I had no idea Caleb was having such a hard time. I said a prayer for him and will continue to do so.

Love, Heather
