They Call Him Flipper, Flipper
Over the last few weeks Caleb has achieved a major milestone. He is now a swimmer.
Oddly enough it wasn’t the two rounds of swim lessons that motivated him to swim. He saw big boys swimming at our nephew’s pool party about three weeks ago, and he decided that day that he was going to master swimming. I guess this is peer pressure in a good way.
He can hold his breath for what seems like an eternity. He can go under and do a flip. He can swim down to pick up a dive ring. He jumps in without us catching him. He spends much more time under the water than on top of it.
although I know this is a great accomplishment, it makes me very nervous. It’s a big loss of control to see him under for so long. I’m always within an arm’s reach even though he thinks I’m crowding him. So far I haven’t had to pull him out.
I was blown away today as he swam back and forth across the pool just stopping for a breath before submerging again. He gets better every time we go.
It is just another reminder that our little boy is growing up. We have been overwhelmed with pride to watch him accomplish something that he wanted so badly. Way to go Caleb!

Thank goodness. You want him to be very good in the water and I am so glad I got to see how good he is getting.
I miss all of you already and can’t wait to see you again.
