Houdini
The last three nights Caleb has taken off every stitch of his clothes. Thankfully he always announces his feat to us via the baby monitor: “Caleb not wear jammies” or “Caleb naked.” For some reason he still talks about himself in third person.
The first night he wet himself and his bed after he had undressed. When we got in there, he was curled up in a ball, soaking wet, and shivering. It broke our hearts to see him in that predicament. We cleaned him up, put on new pajamas, gave him a pep talk about how he needs to stay dressed, rocked him. and went back to sleep.
The second night we put a safety pin through his zipper and through the top of his pajamas. His winter pajamas are all one piece, with footies that zip in the front from neck to knees. A little while later, another anouncement came. He undressed himself again. He somehow unfastened the safety pin and stripped once again. He’s like Houdini.
The next night we had purchased a straight jacket…
Seriously, we are racking our brains to come up with “an integrated solution” to keep his clothes on. Here are some of our thoughts…
- Packaging tape
- Crazy glue
- A spanking on his bare bottom
- Set-off the security alarm (which scares him) whenever he makes his announcement that he’s removed his pajamas.
Got a good idea? I would love to know any other ideas you might have on this. For obvious reasons, I’m not too happy with some of our proposed methods…and neither would CPS.
