How We Spent Our Christmas Break (Part 1)
[Tiffany here.] We enjoyed the past few weeks having Caleb out of school for the winter vacation. Here is how we spent our break in a nutshell.
This was the year of arts and crafts for us. In fact our Christmas tree was completely decorated in handmade ornaments. We had a second “fancy” Christmas tree that was real, and wouldn’t you know, it fell over thirty hours after we set it up breaking ornaments, ruining gifts, and staining our carpet. We decided not to put it back up since the trunk was so crooked. We even spent one afternoon cutting up paper snowflakes to make a garland to decorate the living room. We found a great Youtube video to watch on how to create perfect snowflakes.
We were outside as much as possible over the break. The boys love it at The Chattahoochee Nature Center. It is a paradise for them with so many rocks and sticks to dip in the water.
We spent Christmas Eve baking before the Candlelight service at church. We make Rudolph cookies every year for Santa. Andrew was more into eating than decorating.
Of course we forced a few family shots around the Christmas tree on the boys. They did pretty well for about two minutes and then chaos broke out.
We spent Christmas day alone this year in our pajamas. It was very relaxing. Both boys enjoyed playing with their new toys. Caleb is still into Legos and any other building toys. He loved the game Rush Hour also. Andrew is obsessed with balls, so he mostly got sports toys.
Finally we spent the day after Christmas hanging out with the cousins and Wendy and Chris. The kids had a lot of fun together. Wendy was a good sport to make a pretend net for Andrew to play basketball.
Still to come…Christmas Vacation part 2
