How’s that for a bright idea?
A few weeks ago while Tiffany and Caleb were vacationing in Alabama, I got a bright idea. I think all my ideas are bright when I first have them. I decided to schedule a babysitter to keep Caleb on the weekend after we got back (which was this past weekend). So without looking at the calendar or thinking about the date, I assumed we had nothing going on. Assuming is not a good idea. When I finally told Tiffany about when the sitter was coming, she looked at me dumbfounded and said, "ON CALEB’S BIRTHDAY?! YOU HIRED A BABYSITTER SO WE COULD GO OUT ON CALEB’S BIRTHDAY?! WHAT KIND OF PARENTS DO THAT?!"
"Well..uh…I…uh…didn’t…uh…it never even dawned on me that Friday was the 15th."
Then we both laughed.
Thank you, God, for my wife. I’m not sure where I would be without her, but I know it wouldn’t be where I need to be.
With a quick call we were able to move the babysitter to last night. And we still had a nice date together.
