In My Own Generation

Andy

Some communicate through their voice from a platform, and then there are those like me who communicate through a keyboard and a modem.

A verse that is quickly becoming a rallying call in my life is Acts 13:36 which says “For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, he died”.

At the end of my life, I want it said about me that I served God’s purpose in my own generation, that I did the eternal in a contemporary way, that I did God’s will in a way that impacted my present culture, and that I shared a timeless Message in a timely way. In a May 21, 2001 article, George Barna says, “Within this decade as many as 50 million individuals may rely solely upon the Internet to provide all of their faith-based experiences.” (read the entire article) That is astounding and even somewhat scary, but it is the way this generation lives and communicates…and that’s where the Good News of Jesus Christ must be too. While I don’t recommend getting all of one’s faith-based experiences on the Internet, it is obviously a valuable source for spiritual growth tools. I want to communicate so that this generation can comprehend what I’m saying.
