Letting Go

Caleb likes to be rocked to sleep…in fact that is the only way he wants to be put to sleep. We read early on about how you should not rock babies to sleep, but it was so fun to hold and rock him. Three months later we are still rocking him to sleep, but today we have decided to put him in bed to put himself to sleep. We don’t want Caleb to be ten years old and still rocked to sleep.

So as I write this Caleb is in bed crying for me to come get him. It started out with him making some noises, then it was a small cry, and now it is all out screaming with choking and coughing sound effects. He is so dramatic. It is so hard to not go pick him up. Andy is at work so he isn’t suffering with me. Caleb has three more minutes before I go get him because I can’t let him go more than ten minutes before I give in. I’ll let you know how it goes.
