Lifetime Guarantee Ministries

Andy

*Update: Lifetime.org had another redesign in the June 2007. Other than a tiny bit of consulting though, I had nothing to do with it. Credit Caliber Media Group with this fantasic redesign. It’s another great step forward for this ministry that’s so close to my heart. *

Lifetime.org is an online Christian discipleship ministry featuring the resources of Dr. Bill, Anabel, and Preston Gillham. Features of the site include a daily devotional, a blog with Movable Type, the broadcasting of a daily audio program, a testimonies database, an article database of over 500 articles, a personality profile quiz, RSS feeds, eCards, newsletter subscriptions, and more. Lifetime.org uses a PHP script to dynamically generates all its pages (except homepage) using a common template.

The recent version of the site was redesigned and re-engineered in 2005. The site now complies with web standards and accessibility best practices. The layout and visual presentation of the site’s content is all controlled through a single Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) file. It tells the file where and how to display the text on your screen. And if you’re using a web-enabled cell phone or PDA…no problem. The content and articles that Lifetime Guarantee’s visitors come for are still accessible, even if they’re not quite as appealing to the eye.

For the frequently updated portions of the site I built a simple interface to add and update content that lives in the database. Now I’m not the only one who can add new articles to the site. Anyone on our staff can.

You can also read the official write-up that followed the April 2005 re-launch of Lifetime.org. It will explain all this in a little more detail.
