Life with a Seven and a Half Month Old

Andy

This is Tiffany writing today (with Andy’s permission). I wanted to update you on our life with a busy seven and a half month old.

Caleb has changed so much lately. He is all boy not baby. He has mastered crawling and can get out of sight quick. He still spits-up so I can find him by following the trail of spit-up he leaves behind. We had to hide Wesley’s food because Caleb thought it was Cheerios. He has started pulling up on furniture this week. He is very dangerous. It seems like he bumps his head on everything. He pulled the kitchen chair over on him the other day. It is hard for me as he starts to venture out. I know he needs time to explore, but I want to protect him from all the bumps and bruises. It warms my heart when he crawls over to me, pulls up in my lap, and wants a big hug.

It seems like Caleb is always laughing. He has two bottom front teeth that show with every smile. It reminds me of a beaver. He goes days in a row without any crying.

Caleb loves when it is time to eat. His new favorite food is Cheerios. He loves to eat carrots, squash, and sweet potatoes. He doesn’t care for green vegetables, but I keep trying. His favorite fruit is pears, but he also likes applesauce. We are still working on peaches. He eats cereal with fruit in it twice a day and has milk four times a day.

Caleb is a great sleeper. He goes to bed around 7:30 pm and sleeps until 6:30ish. He takes two naps during the day. He even puts himself to sleep at naptime without being rocked now. That was harder on me than him. We read books together before naptime now instead of rocking.

Caleb will be taking his first airplane ride this coming week. I will be taking him for a visit with family in Montgomery for a week. Hopefully he will do fine on the airplane. I know Andy will miss us like crazy. My two guys love to wrestle together on the floor after Andy gets home from work. Caleb even screamed this happy noise when Andy came home for lunch today.

Being Caleb’s mom is amazing. Every day is so much fun. I have the best job in the world!
