Making a Grown Man Cry
I’ve gotta get something off my chest. I tend to cry sometimes. I try to hide it. I raise my arms above my head like I’m stretching. Then I turn my head to one side, and wipe the tears on my sleeve to disguise it. It’s really embarrassing sometimes, especially when I’m watching a movie with Tiffany, and she doesn’t cry but I do.
Ok, I feel better now that I’ve confessed that. Now, on to the story—a secondhand story—that Tiffany told me tonight.
Tiffany and the boys were driving in the car today and a song came on the radio. The DJs were talking about how the song’s artist had a miscarriage, and the song she was singing was about losing a baby.
Caleb was listening intently.
He said, “Mommy, I bet that made you very sad when Anna died.”
I couldn’t help but cry when she told me that. He’s a big boy with an even bigger heart.
