Tiffany walked in the office the other night while I was reading in preparation for the I-Term I’ve been taking this week. I was huddled up in a ball as best I could—I’m not that flexible you know—wearing long pants and a jacket, attempting to see the page through the ice cicles that had formed on my eye lids. She was wearing this little pair of shorts and a T-shirt complaing about how we need to set the thermostat lower. I told her that I didn’t think it would go any lower. She reminded me of that scene in the movie Father of the Bride where Mr. Banks (played by Steve Martin) is having to wear big heavy coats inside the house in the dead of summer. I used to think that scene was exaggerated for comic effect. Oh how I wish it were!!! This pregnancy is getting really difficult on me. I’m not sure I will be able to make it . . . especially labor. I’ll be holed up in that icy hospital, and on top of that, I’ll be up on my feet the whole time. Tiffany will have it made during my labor. She’ll get to lie down as much as she wants. How easy is that?!
