That’s Creative
"That’s Creative" will be an ongoing part of Calebology. I try to say "that’s creative" when Caleb does something very messy, unusual, and new.
Here is an example from yesterday: Caleb decided to use his hammer to bang nails into my plants in the window. Dirt was flying all over. He had never messed with the plants before so I said to myself, "That’s creative". After a firm warning, he got to help me vacuum the floor.
Later on Caleb poured all of Wesley’s dog food into Wesley’s water bowl while saying "WaWa, Food, WaWa, Food". I could tell something had to be wrong before I even made it into the bathroom. When I saw the mess I said to myself, "That’s Creative", After a firm warning, he got to help me replace the food and water.
Caleb is helping me get over me neat freak tendencies very quickly. I say "That’s Creative" as a little pep talk to myself and to remind myself that Caleb is little and learning and needs to experiment. I’m sure one day when Caleb’s older there won’t be dirt, water, and food on the floor, but I will miss that curious toddler running around.
