Too Much Information
Last night at 11 pm the phone rang. It was a call I had been expecting. Our friend Heather was in labor and I rushed to her house to spend the night with their daughter Rachel.
Caleb had also been looking forward to the arrival of Rachel’s baby sister. At breakfast this morning Caleb wanted to know where mommy was. Andy explained to him that I was at Rachel’s house, and that Mrs. Heather was having the baby.
Caleb said, “ Do they have to cut her tummy open to get the baby out?”
Andy said, “ No, I don’t think they’ll have to do that.”
Caleb responded, “Then how’s that baby going to get out?”
Andy quickly saved himself by saying, “Yes, they are going to have to cut the baby out after all”.
Caleb seemed satisfied with this explanation

I always told the kids when they were real little that mommies have a special place that babies can come out. That always seem to satisfy them also.

Well Tiffany remember asking me in the grocery store’s meat department….”mommy how do you try to have a baby?”
I’m giving you a heads up to be able to prepare for that question! I was so embarrassed, because several people heard her ask that question. My answer was….. Sweetie, wait until we get home and ask me again and I will be happy to tell you; the grocery store is not the place to tell you this. Fortunately you did not ever ask me again! However, I did explain the Birds and Bees to you when she was older. Do you remember that? I Love you! MOM
