Valentine’s Day 2009

There are benefits to being the only girl in a house filled with boys especially at Valentine’s Day. They treat me like a queen. Last year they made a video for me. I knew this year they had been planning a special surprise, and they didn’t disappoint.

We didn’t have a babysitter for Valentine’s Day since we had used her the night before to take Caleb to see The Ringling Brothers Circus, but that didn’t stop Andy.

They told me to be gone Saturday afternoon and come home after Andrew was in bed at 6:30pm. When I arrived I saw a romantic table for two in the den by the fireplace set with my fine china and candles. Andy had dinner prepared and had even hired a waiter for the evening. Not just any waiter either, but the most adorable one I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t help but kiss the waiter a few times.

Hold on, my date is hugging on the waiter!

The waiter showed us to our table and served dinner. The menu included:
Brie and Raspberry Fillo Rolls
Beef Medallions in Rich Mushroom Sauce with Roasted Rosemary Potatoes
S’mores cookies (my favorite)

Our waiter brings the food.

I must admit I was praying that Caleb wouldn’t trip and fall down the stairs while carrying the food!

Ok, so Andy didn’t cook, but he knows the phone number to an awesome catering company!

This was our 13th Valentine’s Day together, and they just keep getting better.

Does it sound too good to be true? If so, I’ll tell the rest of the story tomorrow when half way through dinner we had a huge interruption…
