Valentine’s Day 2009: The Rest of the Story

I’ve already told you how Andy and the boys had a special night planned for me on Valentine’s Day. However, there was one thing that interrupted the night that Andy hadn’t planned on though.

For all of you that know Caleb this post is going to be very surprising. He is a people pleaser, very Type A personality, and usually drama-free. But, due to a sinus infection last week that triggered some asthma problems he had to go on some oral steroid medicine for 3 days over the weekend. We call this the “crazy medicine” because thirty minutes after taking the medicine he goes crazy. Thankfully this was the first time since his sinus surgery last May that he has needed it, and hopefully he will not need it again.

Here is Caleb at the beginning of the night dressed as our waiter for the evening. Isn’t he adorable?

Caleb's downward spiral - sweet

I couldn’t resist this picture showing how much he has grown since June when he wore this to be a ring bearer in Aunt Sarah’s wedding:

Caleb's downward spiral - Still sweet

Oh, the medicine is starting to kick in…all inhibitions are leaving him now as he starts dancing:

Caleb's downward spiral - inhibitions fading

Caleb's downward spiral - Gettin a littled revved up

Caleb's downward spiral - Uh oh get ready

Here comes the crazy part as Andy reminded Caleb that it is now bedtime and he was putting himself to bed without us. That sounded fine to Caleb before the crazy medicine but not so good after the medicine.

Caleb's downward spiral - Bad to worse

Caleb's downward spiral - Not handling bad news very well right now

Yes, he is stripping during our romantic Valentine’s dinner. It was like a Vegas show during our meal (not that I would know anything about that).

Caleb passed out in bed shortly after the last picture was taken, and Andy and I resumed our romantic dinner. The next morning it was like it never happened. I’m happy to report that he ended the crazy medicine before going back to school on Tuesday, and I know his teacher is thankful. It is so nice to have the normal Caleb back!
