Who’s life deserves to be protected

A very interesting article in the National Review came out yesterday. I think this boils the Terri Schiavo issue down to its fundamental issue: what makes a human being a person? Given Terri’s inability to do much more than primal brain functions, some do not believe that Terri Schiavo is a real person anymore. The ramifications of this issue go much deeper than whether Terri lives or starves. It has to do with how our nation’s laws and courts answer these questions: Who is a person having inherent (and I believe God given) worth and a who is just a mass of cells and tissue? Who’s life deserves to be protected and who’s life should not. It’s a scary deal issue we’re discussing. Read the article
