You can’t be an artist without getting messy

What surprises me most about these videos you’re about to see is not the huge mess these boys make when they paint. That makes perfect sense. Mix watercolors and kids, and you’re going to get a big explosive mess. No, what surprised me the most is that Tiffany is more concerned about videoing this natural disaster than cleaning it up. And I’m proud of her.

She’s anal about things being clean, and she’s proud of that. (In fact, when she reads this, she’ll take that last sentence as a compliment.) I love that about her. God really has a sense of humor to give her two boys that make humongous messes with greatest of ease. When Caleb was a baby, she wouldn’t have allowed him to make that kind of mess in the kitchen. But now with Andrew, she is more interested in documenting the mess on video. She has come a long way. So enjoy these two videos:
